We
managed a fine morning with some well contested sets. Only nine
pairs took part on the day which was disappointing but those involved
were very keen. We had a lovely lunch and then the rain caught up
with us. Nonetheless
the intrepid BWTA ladies went to work on the artificial grass but did
get extremely wet!!! Our
thanks to the Reigate Club for their hospitality and to those who braved
the elements and travelled a long way to do so. My
personal thank you to Pamela Knutton for her great assistance on the
day. Group
1 was won by Joyce Langham & Karen Wallis who defeated Maggie Warner
& Kate Harris 6-4 6-2. Group
2 was won by Di Bennett & Janet Broster who defeated Alison Marriot
& Frances Jones 3-6 6-1 (10-6). Group
3 was won by Gill Dowling & Sue Denman over Joan Powell & Diana
Fitchelt 6-1 6-0.
